The heater is installed into your existing pool plumbing ( schedule 40 pvc pipe or hoses) as the last device on the system.
Just before the water returns to the pool it will run through the wood heater. The stainless steel heat exchanger is in the top of the heater and the fire burns below it. As the fire burns the flames pass around a series of water pipe before they go up the chimney. As the pool water runs through these pipes it heats up rapidly by 3 to 10 degrees. An adjustable draft door allows the fire to be regulated. It can burn fast and hot, heating the pool quickly or burn slower putting out a steady maintaining heat.
